I was asked to play an Elliott Smith tribute show in Chapel Hill North Carolina. I decided to cover Angeles much like it's original, simply and sparsely. It's daunting to play the song of one of the most genius singer-songwriters of my time and as far as I'm concerned all time, but I also believe that his songs deserve the energy of a live performance, so that they can continue to move people and that his work is still a shared experience in a community setting (like, at a rock club). I guess I think that his spirit is encapsulated in his songs, and that's a beautiful thing to keep alive.
Only one song on here is on their two great albums, but that's the good thing. That means there is a handful of new tracks for me to enjoy. Great harmonies, grungy guitar riffs and up tempo song pace- just like Dresch & co are known for. Thanks ladies! anabolic squirrel
